Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Who You Are
You are an experienced electrical maintenance professional in open-pit mining, skilled in planning and executing preventive maintenance, managing electrical repairs, and leading teams of electricians and support staff. You bring hands-on expertise with VFDs, PLC systems, and HMI software, and are committed to maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-performing work environment while optimizing operational reliability.
This is a safety sensitive position. As the Electrical Supervisor you report to Electrical and Instrumentation Project Manager.
What You Do
- Collaborate with the Electrical and Instrumentation Manager to develop and implement an effective maintenance scheduling program for all on-site electrical equipment.
- Perform and oversee electrical repairs, ensuring reliability and safety of equipment.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining a preventative maintenance (PM) program to track and manage all electrical maintenance activities.
- Maintain short-term and long-term maintenance schedules, from daily inspections to multi-year overhauls and equipment upgrades.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors for sourcing parts and supplies efficiently.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Planners to procure necessary maintenance supplies, emphasizing just-in-time delivery where possible.
- Supervise multiple electricians and support personnel, including planning and scheduling their daily work, assigning projects, and monitoring progress.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and ensure team members receive proper training and development.
- Work with Maintenance Supervisors and personnel to ensure all scheduled electrical maintenance is performed correctly and on time.
- Set maintenance schedules for electricians and support staff, providing them with proper documentation, literature, and parts to complete assigned tasks.
- Foster a work environment that attracts and retains skilled personnel for a high-demand maintenance setting.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure electricians receive proper training and collaborate with the Training Department to develop training programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an open-pit mining environment with a focus on electrical systems and circuitry.
- Hands-on experience as an electrical technician, including scheduling and monitoring preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities of similar complexity to those in a mining operation.
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), including installation, troubleshooting, and programming.
- Proficiency with PLC-controlled equipment, 4-20 mA loop-controlled systems, and HMI software such as Wonderware or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with a team of electricians and support personnel.
- Proven experience implementing planned maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Willingness and ability to work shifts as required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or GED.
