Job Description:

  • Department and location:  Occupational Therapy, St Vincent’s Public Hospital, Darlinghurst

  • Salary: $30.63 – $34.63 per hour + Super + Salary packaging

About the role

  • Deliver hands-on support to palliative care and rehabilitation patients across community and inpatient settings

  • Work closely with allied health professionals in physiotherapy, OT, dietetics, speech pathology and social work

  • Carry out delegated clinical tasks and therapy support to enhance patient care

  • Manage equipment loan pools, including delivery, collection and stock tracking

About you

  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or;

  • Working towards a university degree in Occupational Therapy or;

  • Internationally Reconised Occupational Therapy qualification

  • Current unrestricted NSW Class C driver’s licence.

  • Experience working 12 months or less as an allied health assistant

  • Experienced in managing an equipment loan pool, including tracking, maintenance and logistics

  • Confident working within a multidisciplinary team and delivering delegated clinical tasks under supervision

  • Solid understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and how to apply safe work practices in daily tasks

  • Technically proficient with Microsoft Office and clinical systems used in health settings

In this role you will be based at St Vincent’s hospital, Darlinghurst.

  • Closely partnered with universities & affiliated research institutes, many of which are located on-campus 

  • Centres of excellence include heart & lung transplantation, bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, cancer care, AIDS/HIV, respiratory medicine, mental health, homeless health, drug & alcohol services, and correctional health
