Working closely with the engineering department, they ensure the reliability of power generation and distribution, navigation and communication equipment, and safety critical systems. Additionally, the position requires monitoring equipment and identify, report, and resolve any electrical problems, to ensure optimal operation in accordance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and customer expectations.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EKey Responsibilities:%26nbsp;%3C/strong%3E%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E• Ensure safe and reliable operation of all vessel electrical and electronic systems.%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair power distribution and control systems.%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E• Oversee operation and upkeep of navigation, communication, and automation systems.%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E• Support vessel safety by maintaining emergency electrical systems and alarms.%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E• Comply with classification society, flag state, and international maritime regulations.%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E• Provide technical support to the engineering and deck departments.%3C/p%3E

Education & Credentials:

• High School Diploma or equivalent [G.E.D.] or higher preferred 

Required: 
o Valid Driver’s License 
o Valid TWIC 

Preferred: 
o Valid USCG MMC 
o STCW: 
    - Electro-Technical Officer (III/6) 
    - Basic Safety Training (VI/1) 
    - Vessel Personnel w/ Designated Security Duties & Security Awareness (VI/6) 
o HUET Training (One of the following):  
    -Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training with CA-EBS 
    -Further Offshore Emergency Training with CA-EBS 
o Global Wind Organization Training – Examples below:
    - Working at Heights 
    - First Aid 
    -Manual Handling 
    - Fire Awareness 
    - Sea Survival 
o First Aid/CPR 
o Qualified Rigger 
o Fall Protection User 
 

Experience: 

• Minimum of 2 years of sea time onboard a vessel or an offshore asset. 
• High/Low voltage experience and training preferred. 
• Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic systems. 
• Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
 

Technical Skills: 

• Operate, monitor, and maintain electrical power generation and distribution equipment to ensure proper functionality through daily checks and maintenance. 
• Identify, report, and resolve electrical/electronic problems. 
• Carry out planned maintenance and testing of navigation and communication equipment (radar, ECDIS, GMDSS, AIS, GPS, etc.) 
• Perform inspections, recordkeeping, and compliance checks in line with SOLAS, ISM Code, and classification requirements. 
• Update system documentation, electrical drawings, and maintenance logs. 
• Coordinate with Engineering department and vessel management on technical issues and maintenance planning. 
• Help maintain emergency systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, PA/GA, and lifeboat systems. 
• Provide guidance and training to crew on safe use of electrical and electronic equipment. 
• Ensure sufficient spare parts and consumables are available for uninterrupted operations by assisting in inventory control of spare parts and consumables for electrical systems 
• Assist with specialized vessel systems such as dynamic positioning (DP), cranes, winches, and subsea equipment (if applicable). 
• Adhere to company safety policies by properly using designated PPE at all times. 
• Attend and engage in daily safety meetings and shift handovers, in a timely fashion. 
• Assist in keeping workspace clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
