JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for safely and effectively operating the distribution sorter while performing administrative support functions related to shipping, order auditing and inventory transactions.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Performs routine operational checks on the distribution sorter at the beginning and end of each shift, and during batch changes. Consistently reports findings and workflow status to management.
- Monitors the daily replenishment schedule and proactively identifies potential workflow challenges or opportunities. Escalates issues to management for timely resolution as needed.
- Utilizes GBI/JA Apex dashboard to understand current condition of sorter, and order status; and effectively monitor sorter and conveyor throughput and periodically report data to management and/or perform data entry.
- Consistently monitors reject or recirculation counts and works with appropriate team members to resolve quickly to eliminate impact of shipping schedule. Proactively engages management on repeat issues that need cross functional partnership for resolution.
- Performs inbound and outbound inventory transactions in Oracle. Receives and processes merchandise, supplies and equipment from internal (retail stores, manufacturing plants, corporate departments - including product care & engraving) and external
- Works closely with internal departments to transfer merchandise and expedite high priority orders.
- Researches and troubleshoots inventory discrepancies. Communicates with internal departments (retail stores, manufacturing plants, product care, engraving, call center and distribution planning) to reconcile inventory and/or discrepancies.
- Inspects incoming materials and goods received to ensure adherence to established quality standards, and processes non-compliant items for disposition.
- Maintains adequate security on all assigned inventory items (physical and procedural controls).
- Confirms and ships customer and retail replenishment orders. Prepares packages by weighing, labeling, and manifesting shipments through digital tools like UPS and WorldShip or standard mail, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Orders and requests packaging/office supplies from internal and external suppliers.
- Performs pick, put-away and packaging duties when required.
- Performs additional duties and supports other areas as assigned by Distribution Leadership.
WHAT IS REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a distribution, warehouse or similar work environment.
- Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with various teams and departments.
- Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and manage frequent interruptions while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to interpret documents such as purchase orders, bill of ladings, sales orders, work orders/jobs, packing lists, procedure manuals, etc.
- Ability to apply basic logic and understanding to carry out instructions in written, verbal or diagram form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to operate sorting machines or automated sorting systems and quickly learn new technology.
- Ability to safely lift up to 25lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including Saturday & Sunday rotation and overtime when necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems.
