Job Summary: This is advanced professional work developing network architecture, planning network projects, designing network infrastructure, monitoring, and reporting network performance, modifying, and maintaining enterprise-wide data networks ensuring proper security policies and procedures are implemented, and managing resources dedicated to network infrastructures.
Job duties include:
- Performs high-level and detailed network planning, design, and implementation. Develops & documents network solutions using current and emerging technologies.
- Manages network security using firewall, intrusion detection and prevention devices and contracted services.
- Performs routine maintenance tasks as required; aids users and fellow IT staff on their projects.
- Configures and supports network routers, switches, wireless controllers/APs and firewalls.
- Troubleshoots network systems and affects remediation for identified issues and failures.
- Develops, maintains and reports network metrics to provide management insight into enterprise capacity, bottlenecks and resource allocation.
- Assists in developing network budget requirements for planning and execution.
Knowledge Of:
Network management skills (TCP/IP, Ethernet, etc.); Router/Switch/Firewall management skills (Cisco, Aruba, Arista, Brocade, Fortinet, etc.); Network Topologies; 802.xx standards; wireless network standards and protocols.
Skilled In:
Systems analysis; project management; documentation; communication; and hardware/software evaluation, and troubleshooting.
Ability To:
Analyze hardware and software; provide input in the selection of new products; communicate well, both in normal and technical communications, collaborate while on technical teams, and manage contracts.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the computer sciences or management information systems and four years of experience in networks or systems administration, or completion of a two-year program from a vocational/technical school or community college in computer science or management information systems and six years of experience in networks or systems administration.
Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
General office environment; some travel (occasional weekend and evening work), hours worked over 40 in a single week earn comp time, work from home eligible after 3 months of employment.
Licenses:
Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
Additional Details:
Starting Salary Range: $61,318.40 - $76,648.00
Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.
