Job Summary:
The Payroll Analyst must adhere to company policies, business processes, and labour standards to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of the company’s payroll for both Canada and the US.
Main Responsibilities:
- Review timesheets and attendance records and correct inaccuracies;
- Oversee payroll transactions, new hires, terminations, promotions, adjustments, etc.;
- Reconcile payroll on a biweekly basis;
- Analyze compensation-related data, including wages and bonuses;
- Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records;
- Communicate payroll issues to your direct Manager;
- Answer employees’ questions about salaries, wages, and taxes;
- Perform other related duties as assigned to maximize the department’s efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of payroll-related experience;
- PCP certification, an asset;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
- Knowledge of payroll software (UKG and StoreForce, an asset);
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Professional attitude and strong customer service focus;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment;
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Experience processing payroll for mid- to large-sized companies, including both salaried and hourly employees;
- Knowledge of federal, provincial/state legislation, acts, and regulations related to payroll (Canada and the US);
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required for daily communication with suppliers, employees, and stakeholders, both within and outside of Quebec.
