The role will be part of a virtual CREST team alongside representatives from across the business, the aim of which is to ensure we can meet current and future commitments to Euroclear, the regulator and our Issuer clients through an exciting period of change and beyond. You may also be providing first line support to custodians.
A role you will love
The Industry and CREST Manager is responsible for supporting all business activities associated with CREST, from understanding and performing day-to-day activities, developing a sound working CREST knowledge across both business and technology aspects, with a view to becoming a subject matter expert (SME). The role will include supporting the execution and implementation of the businesses CREST plan and the Euroclear UK and International (EUI) Modernisation programme.
The Industry and CREST Manager will also be responsible for supporting the Governance & Industry Director and other senior leadership with reviewing, assessing, implementing and responding to market developments including but not limited to the UK digitisation programme, implementation of T+1, Stamp modernisation.
Some key responsibilities:
Develop a firm understanding of business processes and activities that are associated with Computershare’s interactions with the CREST system, including, Gilts, Corporate Actions, Dividends, Proxy Voting and Stock Deposit processing.
Understand the CREST support activities carried out by Computershare Technology Services (CTS) including those performed by the Registry & Finance Team and Global Operations for running the end-of-day reconciliation.
Support in the troubleshooting of technical CREST related issues and work with the CTS developers to identify solutions.
Testing functional changes introduced by Euroclear and CTS changes to SCRIP related to CREST and supporting the awareness of changes across the business.
Attend and produce management information for the bi-monthly CREST Forum.
Attend service partnership reviews with Euroclear and be one of the on-call contacts for the business and Euroclear.
Participate in change programmes introduced by Euroclear, assess rule changes, document requirements for enhancements to the SCRIP system.
Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (including industry bodies, competitors and government) and prepared to support custodians with urgent matters related to in flight corporate events.
To support the promotion complimentary services for custodians including InSearch, Consolidated Dividend Service, bespoke reporting, e-comms preferences.
Support with the assessment of market developments through the reviewing of new legislation, regulations, call for evidence and consultations.
Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (including industry bodies, competitors and government).
Support and where required represent the business on relevant webinars, presentations and insight events. Alongside providing industry and market development insight to internal and external stakeholders.
Support the business where appropriate in new business tenders and existing client tenders and execution of relevant meetings/forums.
What will you bring to the role?
This role requires excellent collaboration skills to work with the business, technology and global teams to ensure we deliver our CREST commitments and can adapt and/or influence market developments with confidence and certainty. The role will also require the ability to present complex matters to other stakeholders, both internally and externally.
You will be technically competent, or willing to become technically competent, and able to take on and perform some technical activities in the support of the CREST system, working closely with staff across CTS as you develop and hone your technical knowledge and know-how.
Other key skills required for the role include:
Registry, Company Secretarial, financial services or similar industry experience
Ability to build and maintain strong existing client relationships as well as an internal network
Ability to oversee and support multiple detailed projects, whilst managing risk
Good knowledge of financial services and the expectations of the regulator
An intermediate level knowledge of CREST
Excellent knowledge of operational processes within financial services or ideally within Issuer Services
Experience of working with systems and project methodologies alongside strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
A great team player with the ability to work with internal stakeholders at all levels
Excellent at working with customers, stakeholders and external parties using strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication, both verbal and written
Experience of business analysis, release management and service delivery
An organised individual with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
