Join our dedicated team at Community Health Center of the North Country, where we provide comprehensive, equitable, and accessible high-quality health care and human services to individuals and families of all income levels and those with individualized needs. As a Dentist in our rural Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), you’ll deliver exceptional oral health care while helping to break down barriers to service in an underserved community.


We welcome both new graduates and experienced dentists who are passionate about community-based care. Our site is NHSC-approved, making this position eligible for federal loan repayment programs.


Reports to: Dental Director

Rate of Pay: $163,000 - $200,000 annually (based upon experience). Relocation/sign-on bonus negotiable.

Work Schedule: Flexible within Monday - Friday daytime business hours. No nights, weekends, or major holidays. No on-call.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide dental examinations, diagnoses, and treatments to patients referred to the health center.
  • Develop and discuss individualized care plans with patients and their families.
  • Ensure appropriate prophylactic antibiotic coverage and maintain accurate prescription records.
  • Operate x-ray equipment safely and follow all infection control protocols.
  • Direct and collaborate with dental assistants and other care team members.
  • Make referrals when specialized care is needed and coordinate with other providers 
  • Deliver patient and staff education on oral health and preventive care.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Monitor dental lab (prosthetic) cases and ensure proper tracking.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Current New York State license in Dentistry (DDS or DMD).  
  • CPR Certification (BLS or equivalent).  
  • Proficiency in eClinicalWorks or similar EHR systems preferred.  
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.  
  • Compassionate approach with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.  
  • Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and confidentiality.
