About Our Opportunity
We are seeking an Associate Packaging Designer to work in the Philadelphia Corporate office. The Associate Packaging Designer will design generic and licensed packaging for Unique and private label products. This position is responsible for using correct legal information, country of origin, UPC’s, warnings and translations and also checks incoming proofs for all packaging produced.
PRIMARY DUTY
Under the direct supervision of the Plate & Bowl Production Manager, the Shift Supervisor supports the Forming Department by leading, planning, organizing, and directing all production and forming staff. This individual will oversee the daily operations of the production lines, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and safely and taking full responsibility for product quality. Supervises the second shift, with the typical hours from 2:45 P.M. to 11:15 P.M., Monday through Friday.

- Manages and maintains safety, staff, production, quality, manufacturing processes for duration of shift.
- Understands, implements, and maintains 6S, Lean Manufacturing, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Establishes daily manning assignments for the shift.
- Collaborates with Safety and Human Resources departments to enforce adherence to company policies.
- Develops and trains associate skills for current and future production demands.
- Works in collaboration with incoming/outgoing production supervisors to perform consistent and effective shift transitions/handoffs.
- Approves and maintains all payroll time for all direct reports.
- Engages in performance management of production employees by conducting periodic reviews and annual safety, quality, and performance matrix reviews.
- Collaborates with Maintenance department to solve/fix all equipment-related issues.
- Manages the output of the Plate & Bowl Forming Departments with emphasis on quality control, and cost.
- Maintains records necessary for the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely reports. Examples of reports are daily productivity and KPIs.
- Reviews daily work-in-progress and ensures that departmental personnel have correct instructions and specifications.
- Monitors production yields to determine trends and suggests areas of improvement.
- Assists with internal and external audits
- Enforces adherence to maintenance routines, and demands standards of order and cleanliness in the production area.
- Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others, and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
- Works with Human Resources to interview, select, and train associates to fill vacant positions.
- Interacts with other departmental supervisors to maximize production. Provides technical details to clarify questions and problems with particular jobs.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides direct supervision to Line Operators and Packers, and is responsible for the production activities on their assigned shift.

- Demonstrated reliability with a strong work ethic and attendance record.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma required.
- 5 years of related experience and/or training required.
- Progressive experience in manufacturing environment and in a supervisory capacity preferred
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
