About the Department
Under general supervision, functions as a technician performing a variety of studio, lab, and technical duties to support the studio hours of the professional crafts programs.
Position Duties
- Ensure lab safety procedures are maintained at all times
- Maintain clean and orderly studio and lab conditions
- Perform general safety audits
- Supervise students in an open studio and lab setting
- Recommend supply purchases to Professional Crafts Program Manager
- Respond to the needs of the students within the studio and lab setting
- Secure building and equipment and end of shift
- Report notes equipment or building repair needs to Professional Crafts Program Manager
- Complete accurate and timely reports of any injury that occurs in the building during shift
- Contact Security as needed to report any activity that is of concern during the shift.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge to operate a variety of crafts equipment safely
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Professional demeanor and strong customer service and organizational skills
