About the Department
The City of Pasadena Department of Information Technology is seeking a skilled and collaborative Senior Business Systems Analyst (ERP). The Senior Business Systems Analyst serves as a functional liaison for enterprise applications. The incumbent is responsible for business process analysis, system configuration, and user support to ensure efficient and effective use of the City’s ERP system and other City enterprise applications.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate possesses strong IT technical knowledge with experience documenting business requirements, defining scope and objectives and formulating systems and approaches. The Ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, a passion for innovation, and the ability to think strategically to drive business growth. - Serve as the primary liaison between IT, and other city departments for ERP related projects, system enhancements and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of HR, Payroll, Benefits, Position Control, and financial processes.
- Conducts, assess and define processes for system upgrades, new business processes and integrations with third party vendors.
- Creation of automation routines to enforce business rules and enhance workflow efficiency.
- Facilitates implementation of new system capabilities, workflow, and reporting improvements.
- Leads the interface between business needs and technical execution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document business needs and requirements.
- Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging creative thinking and exploration of new ideas.
- Analyze existing business processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create detailed documentation, including requirements specifications, process flows, and user guides.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization.
- Coordinates and conduct testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements and function properly.
- Provide training, documentation, and support for system users.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, management information systems or a closely related field; and
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in professional business systems analysis; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with Tyler Munis ERP or similar public sector enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of public sector HR and finance practices, including compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
- Project management or business process re-engineering experience.
SELECTION PROCESS
The tentative selection process will consist of a training and experience evaluation, a panel interview, and a department- level interview.

There is currently one vacancy in the Department of Information and Technology. The resulting eligibility list from this recruitment may be used to fill this vacancy and similar vacancies in the future. Candidates selected for this position are subject to a one-year probationary work period.
Other Qualifications
Must possess a valid California Class C driver's license and comply with the City's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy during the course of employment.
Valid certification from the International Institute of Business Analysis as a Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or a Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) is preferred.
For certain assignments, successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation is required, including a review of employment history, criminal conviction record, use of intoxicants and/or other controlled substances. In these cases, incumbents may be asked to work at secure locations and access highly confidential materials and information, in addition to working on systems that have city-wide impacts.
