Work Pattern: Mon – Fri 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £38,000 to £42,000 (dependant on experience) plus potential bonus and Companywide benefits.

Position Summary
We’re looking for an experienced SHE Advisor to join the team here at our Confectionary site in Halifax. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career with one of the biggest companies on the planet.
Nestlé Halifax Factory in West Yorkshire is the home of the iconic confectionary brand Quality Street amongst several other well-known brands such as Rolo, Munchies, Matchmakers and of course After Eight. These are produced through controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines.
A day in the life of a SHE Advisor
The SHE Advisor supports the Factory SHE Manager by providing specialist advice and assistance in managing and continuously improving Safety, Health, and Environmental standards at the Halifax factory.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deputise for the H&S Manager in their absence
- Assist the H&S Manager in maintaining and developing an effective integrated SHE management system at the Halifax site.
- Drive continuous improvement of ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and ISO 14001 management systems, aligned with Nestlé Continuous Excellence practices across the site.
- Provide specialist SHE advice to ensure compliance with legal and Nestlé standards. Ensure changes are correctly implemented and sustained across the site. This may include topics such as materials handling and storage, fire safety, process safety, contractor management, construction safety, machinery safety, and high-hazard tasks.
- Support the development, preparation, and revision of policies, procedures, risk assessments, safe systems of work, and updates to the Integrated Management System Manual.
- Train, coach, and assess key SHE competencies and tools. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure actions are tracked to completion.
- Advise on civil claims investigations to help minimise the Company’s liability.
- Support the creation, delivery, and review of SHE training programmes for all levels of management, employees, and embedded contractors.
- Assist in managing occupational health surveillance, ergonomics, biosafety, stress, and resilience across the site.
- Promote SHE communications, awareness campaigns, and initiatives aligned with our Caring in Safety strategy.
- Support SHE incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and robust actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. Ensure statutory and company reporting requirements are met and demonstrate effective risk-based thinking.
- Stay up to date with professional and technical developments in safety, health, and environment.
- Maintain access to current safety, health, and environmental legislation, guidance, and codes of practice.
- Manage the day-to-day running of behavioural safety programmes and facilitate cultural change.
- Undertake specialist projects as directed by the H&S Manager.
- Collect and analyse reliable SHE data to monitor performance, identify losses, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
- Support the Security Champion in ensuring compliance with legal and Nestlé requirements.

The Successful Applicant:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification (essential*) or NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable).
- Environmental Management Level 3 or equivalent (desirable)
- Proven experience in a SHE advisory role in in manufacturing, warehousing and engineering environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Full UK driving licence (if travel between sites is required).
