About STMA Schools
We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district consists of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.

 

Position Overview & Responsibilities
Responsible for preparing lessons, instructing students with a wide range of abilities, assessing student learning, collecting and analyzing student data to plan instruction, creating an engaging and respectful classroom environment, communicating with students, parent and multiple stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, supervising students, participating in school improvement initiatives and learning professionally. Start date: January 9, 2026
FTE: 1.0

Contract: January 9, 2026 - April 2, 2026 (potential to start a day early for training)

 

Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education and required teaching certificate in related area(s) of instruction as required by the State of Minnesota, specific content knowledge, training or job experience required before appointment, and successful student teaching.  Social Studies, high school level, prefered.  

 

Salary & Benefits

Wages: Long-Term Substiute Certified Staff Rate with appropriate Certification from PELSB: $249.55/day.  $175/day with short-call substitute license only.

Benefits: Fully certified teachers with assignments longer than 30 days are entitled to District Contribution at the Full-time (1.0 FTE) benefit level.  No benefits available with short-call substitute license.  Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST) will be provided as required by law for either license type.
