Job Title: Machine Health Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preform route-based data collection at customer sites (vibration, oil sampling, thermography, motion amplification).
- Utilize complementary predictive maintenance technologies (oil analysis, infrared, ultrasound) in support of PdM program implementation.
- Manage and maintain vibration analysis database to include optimizing machinery vibration analysis measurement parameters and alarm limits as necessary.
- Perform rotating machinery fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and condition evaluation utilizing diagnostic skills to interpret frequency spectrum and time-based waveform data.
- Generate detailed reports with findings, recommendations, and severity assessments.
- Recommend effective corrective actions in customer reports with the ability to verbally present in clear and concise manner that supports decision making.
- Respond in a timely manner to Emergency/On-Site call-outs when dispatched by supervisor.
- Provide technical expertise that supports proactive problem detection, root cause analysis, and effective corrective actions.
- Perform administrative activities that include drafting machinery health reports, customer work completion/acceptance documentation, project time reporting, etc.
- Manage and maintain zero incident, zero lost time accident safety record.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Knowledge:
- Associates of Applied Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics Technology or equivalent.
- Category I or higher certification as a vibration analyst in industrial plant setting utilizing portable vibration data collector/analyzer and associated diagnostic and reporting software.
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience.
- Experience in other PdM technologies (oil analysis, infrared, UE) and online vibration monitoring systems a plus.
- Preferred proficiency with:
- CSI 2130 or AMS 2140 Machinery Health Analyzer
- AMS Software – Machine Works or Machinery Health Manager
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to wear maximum level of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction which may include but is not limited to: hardhat; safety glasses; fire resistant clothing; safety-toed footwear; hearing protection; respiratory protection, etc.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to walk and stand 8 hours per day.
- Frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
- Hazards: Potential exposure to chemicals. Proximity to moving mechanical and mobile equipment.
- Must be able to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold.
- Environmental Conditions: Exposure to chemical plant manufacturing facilities. Must work both outside and inside and often in inclement weather conditions. Frequent exposure to noise and vibration. Must be able to distinguish emergency and other alarms and respond according to prescribed procedures.
- Must pass DOT and customer required drug testing.
- Must meet company requirements for driving privileges.
