POSITION SUMMARY
Accountable for managing all activities related to emergency repairs, quoted repairs, service inventory, preventative maintenance, demand service calls and customer service. The General Manager is responsible for providing leadership and assistance to all team members as well as technical direction and work-related advice. Another important aspect of this role is providing accurate and timely division-related data to upper management as well as acting on performance data provided.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides leadership to and oversight of all Service team members; resolves any personnel issues.
- Ensures personnel have the resources needed to meet goals and customer deadlines and demands.
- Coordinates interaction of all activities that relate to incoming and outgoing service calls and needed manpower and materials.
- Maintains customer site access for technicians; monitors and maintains healthy customer relationships.
- Focuses on providing a service team that meets the needs of a growing company—monitoring and improving processes, mentoring technicians, tooling needs, superior customer service, etc.
- Ensures that all aspects of service calls and repairs are handled in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensures estimating team works closely with vendors to manage timing of parts deliveries.
- Ensures dispatch team works closely with customers to manage timely handling of service calls and PMs.
- Works closely with field supervisors to ensure technician base has good morale, proper PPE, tooling, inventory and support they need.
- Ensures team works closely with customers to develop and maintain good relationships.
- Analyzes daily sales data to forecast upcoming activities and to anticipate possible problems or shortages.
- Provides service call and preventative maintenance analyses as needed. Coordinates interaction of all activities that relate to incoming and outgoing service calls and needed manpower and materials.
- Ensures Service Department meets or exceeds profitability goals and all other established goals.
- Responsible for overall department performance, including financial profitability, customer service standards, quality standards, safety compliance, and achievement of all other identified goals.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Highly Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, Industrial Technology or equivalent.
Experience: 7+ years working and leadership experience in HVAC service management.

- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, as well as ability to establish credibility throughout the organization with employees and customers.
- Skilled at analytical thinking, communication, coordination, active listening, critical thinking, time management, team building, mentoring, negotiations, and diplomacy
- Have a proven history of progressive advancements in responsibilities, authorities, and achievements in successfully leading a well-run HVAC service team.
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of current technologies, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access as well as project planning and scheduling systems.
