Landis+Gyr is seeking a Winter/Spring Co-op starting in January 2026 through the beginning of May 2026 working fulltime hours on-site Monday through Friday at our Lafayette, IN office. This is a paid position but we don't offer a housing stipend or relocation assistance so local candidates are preferred. Applicants should be undergraduate level students who will have enough time before graduating to work 3 rotating semesters alternating with school semesters. Senior level students, Masters level students and new graduates will not be considered.
Project Overview/Job Description:
Will work with other engineers on the team to perform tests and work on designs to evaluate the next iteration of our Revelo metering product. Duties will be diverse and may include circuit analysis, circuit design, component selection, PCB layout, data collection, test development, test setup and execution, coding, etc.
Will gain experience working on the stages of development and qualification of metering projects. This will include working with team members, research, design considerations and tradeoffs, practical experience in component selection and circuit design, test execution, and evaluation of test results.
Final presentation will be made before the team, HR, and upper management highlighting activities and accomplishments from the term.
Student Objectives/Responsibilities:
- Create automated tests and data collection utilities
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to design and develop custom test equipment.
- Testing of hardware for compliance with national standards.
- Execute testing of energy storage solutions and assist in processing and analyzing data.
- Become familiar with equipment like oscilloscopes, network analyzers, DMMs, gauss meter, data acquisition devices, soldering irons, environmental chambers, and etc.
- Participate in engineering development processes such as design reviews or DFMEAs.
- Evaluate prototype assemblies for integration into new products.
Education/Experience:
A student working towards their Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with an expected graduation date of August 2027 or later who can work fulltime hours on-site at our Lafayette, Indiana location Monday through Friday.
