Position Summary
The Video Surveillance Specialist monitors multiple residential campus cameras simultaneously to ensure the safety and well being of youth and staff on campus. The Video Surveillance Specialist is required to stay alert to disruptions or suspicious activity, and promptly report any concerns to the identified staff and/or supervisors on campus and properly document these concerns.
Responsibilities
- Maintain open lines of communication with staff and supervisors.
- Ensure staff are following outlined safety policies and protocols, and immediately report concerns to the identified program staff.
- Properly document any concerns identified.
- Survey the cameras for unwanted persons and other threatening situations; and be alert to other events or circumstances that may place youths, staff and/or property at risk.
- Prepare daily/weekly report on activities/contacts to program, and present these findings to the appropriate personnel.
- Report any equipment operation or information technology concerns within established timeframe.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Complete all required paperwork that is legible, accurate and uses professional language.
- Meet timelines for submitting paperwork established by the program and organization.
Qualifications
- Clearances: State Police/FBI per state regulations; Child Protection
Working Conditions
- Physical Demands. Requires vision, constant sitting in front of multiple computer monitors.
- Environmental Factors. Indoors.
- Working Hours. Overnight schedule, typically 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., or similar, days based on program need. Travel to sites as needed.
