Position Purpose
This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Aviation Maintenance Technician program, including supervision of faculty and staff and performing administrative functions related to daily operations.
Key Duties
- Coordinate all aspects of the Aviation Maintenance program, including supervision of faculty and staff and performing administrative functions related to daily operations.
- Assist Campus and Home Office Education directors in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, class scheduling, and maintaining tools and equipment used by students.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct regular instructor and course content evaluations.
Lead faculty meetings and participate in professional development activities.
Assist with staff management, including hiring, training, discipline, and terminations.
Substitute teach as needed to support instructional coverage.
Provide academic advising and tutoring, particularly for “at risk” students.
Maintain and update Faculty and Staff Personnel Reports (FPR/SPR).
Audit curricula to ensure instructors use current materials and meet regulatory standards.
Oversee student performance, attendance, and documentation in Campus Nexus.
Manage program resources — including inventory, equipment, and safety compliance (OSHA).
Support onboarding, mentoring, and other assigned administrative or instructional tasks.
- Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
- An educational background equal to or exceeding the maximum credential offered by the school. An approval may be made in compliance with the accreditation agencies and AIM’s requirements.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years related practical work experience in the aviation maintenance field, specifically repair and installation.
- Appropriate educational administration experience and competence necessary to lead and manage the program.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
- Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusNexus experience a plus.
- Ability and willingness to work outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree
- NCATT, AET Certification
- FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License
Work Schedule
- Option 1: (Full Time) Thursday - Sunday 7:30 am - 6:15 pm (inclusive of lunch break)
- Option 2: (Full Time) Friday - Monday 7:30 am - 6:15 pm (inclusive of lunch break)
