Summary
The Engineering Technician II is an intermediate-level role responsible for supporting product lifecycle maintenance through precise execution of engineering changes. This includes creating and revising 3D models and 2D drawings, maintaining accurate BOMs, coordinating change documentation, and ensuring product data integrity across PDM/ERP systems. This role requires strong CAD proficiency, documentation accuracy, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement changes efficiently and effectively.
Essential Functions
- Provide mechanical design and documentation support across sustaining engineering and new product development initiatives, ensuring design accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards.
- Update and maintain CAD models, drawings, and BOMs to capture and communicate design updates through the engineering change process.
- Draft and revise technical documents, service manuals, and product literature with a high level of accuracy and growing independence.
- Interface with ERP systems to maintain accurate document revision control across the product line.
- Work effectively within SolidWorks PDM/Adept to coordinate and manage engineering changes, maintaining organized and up-to-date design data.
- Comply with company policies, ISO standards, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, or related field, BSME preferred.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience with CAD design
- Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with experience creating 3D models, 2D drawings, and applying GD&T fundamentals.
- Experience using PLM/PDM systems (SolidWorks PDM, Adept) to manage document revisions and support the engineering change process.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor, Navision) to manage part data, BOMs, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
