Taxonomist IV chez Linda Werner & Associates

Position Summary

The Taxonomist plays a critical role in shaping and evolving marketing communications taxonomy. This position involves close collaboration with fellow taxonomists and cross-functional stakeholders to define, implement, and maintain labeling standards that support consistency, scalability, and strategic alignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the expansion and refinement of the communications taxonomy
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure taxonomy consistency and interoperability
• Develop, manage, and continuously iterate on taxonomy structures and metadata frameworks
• Provide strategic recommendations for taxonomy governance and product features that depend on taxonomy
• Translate broad, conceptual ideas into actionable insights and structured systems
• Partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and data engineers to deliver a cohesive taxonomy experience

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven expertise in using taxonomy management systems to organize categories, attributes, and metadata
• Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and drive progress in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
• Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of product vision and long-term planning
• Skilled in stakeholder alignment and communication planning across distributed teams
• Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and deploying taxonomies at scale

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional training required

Location: Onsite (Onsite in Seattle, WA strongly preferred)

Role type: Contract 12 Month Position

Expected hours: 40 per week
