Flexible Working

We offer a 9-day fortnight working pattern, offering extended weekends every other week, granting you more time to pursue your passions. And that's not all – we provide flexible start and finish times.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and report on progress against the configuration management program plan.

  • Manage configuration control for deliverables, documentation and engineering baselines for the engineering program.

  • Manage the identification of configuration items and configuration status accounting and reporting.

  • Support engineering review boards for the engineering program.

  • Adhere to Ultra Maritime engineering policies and procedures to execute the engineering program which may include project specific tailoring.

  • Participate in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) activities to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

  • Provide input to develop Ultra Maritime’s vision and strategic plan.

  • Identify opportunities to improve Ultra Maritime’s policies and procedures.

  • Promulgate Ultra Maritime vision, strategies, goals and initiatives.

  • Uphold, safeguard and promote Ultra Maritime’s values.

Key competency requirements:

  • Understanding of the whole project lifecycle, from bids and proposals through to in service support to define configuration control for engineering projects.

  • Understanding of configuration management baselines and their alignment to design reviews as part of the systems engineering process.

  • Understanding of the controls required to manage data which may be export controlled, security classified or commercially sensitive.

  • Understanding of the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) suite of templates including Data Item Descriptions (DID) and their application.

  • Experience using configuration management tools (e.g. Windchill), with an understanding of requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS) and enterprise resource planning tools (e.g. IFS).

  • Understanding of Ultra Maritime Australia’s Company Standard Procedures.

Experience:

  • Formal training in configuration management and/or a bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent).

  • At least 2 years of experience in configuration management in the Defence industry.

  • The candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a current Australian Defence Security Clearance
