Job Summary:


The Regional Workforce and Housing Coordinator is responsible for day to day oversight of Workforce Development in HGI’s Virginia territory. This position will work alongside the Director of Workforce and Human Services to develop and implement workforce development programs that meet the needs of job seekers with barriers to employment in Virginia.

 

Essential Functions:

1. Participate in the development and implementation of case finding and program participant recruitment.

2. Perform screening, intake, and case management with applicants in the region to ensure program participant entrance into appropriate programs.

3. Implement training and interventions to further career development of assigned program participants, including job readiness training, job seeking support, employment retention support, barrier resolution and volunteer opportunities.

4. Act as liaison between assigned program participants, employers and referral and funding sources.

5. Provide post-employment support and assist program participants to identify and utilize natural support systems and refer to appropriate community resources as needed.

6. Advocate for and educate program participants, community organizations and employers concerning HGI programs and services and maintain good rapport.

7. Maintain all relevant program participant records, case notes and other documentation including attendance records and reports.

8. Complete monthly progress reports and submit fee-for-service invoices as directed, as well as attend meetings as needed.

9. Assist with program evaluation and community needs assessment to identify program and service needs.

10. Participate in development and submission of program and service proposals to expand and diversify program funding as directed.

11. Build relationships with community partners ensuring a robust service continuum is available to program participants.

12. Cultivate strong employer relationships creating pathways to living wage employment for program participants

Education and Experience:

  • Human Services Field minimum (3) years experience
  • Experience with public assistance system preferred, as well as working with state and federal funding sources.
