Position Summary:
Paraco Gas is seeking a highly analytical and detail-driven Forecaster to support our supply chain operations through the development of accurate short- and mid-term demand forecasts. This pivotal role plays a critical part in optimizing inventory planning, procurement, and distribution processes. The successful candidate will use a blend of historical data, consumption trends, real-time inputs, and weather analytics to anticipate fluctuations in customer demand and help ensure consistent, cost-effective product availability in a dynamic energy market.


Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly demand forecasts for propane and heating oil across diverse customer segments and geographical regions.
  • Leverage weather models, historical consumption data, and market insights to build and maintain reliable predictive models.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, logistics, procurement, and planning teams to align forecasts with distribution schedules and inventory goals.
  • Continuously monitor real-time demand indicators and adjust forecasts to support agile, just-in-time delivery strategies.
  • Partner with customer service and sales teams to integrate promotional activities, customer feedback, or usage patterns into demand planning.
  • Identify variances and demand anomalies early; communicate risks or opportunities to relevant stakeholders with actionable insights.
  • Maintain and enhance forecasting systems and tools, ensuring data integrity, functionality, and usability.
  • Conduct post-season performance reviews to evaluate forecasting accuracy and recommend process improvements for future planning cycles.

 

 

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; additional education or certifications in supply chain, data analysis, or forecasting is a plus.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in dispatch, logistics, routing, or demand planning within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); strong data entry capabilities and experience with mapping software or service distribution tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with ADDS Energy Software or similar platforms is a strong advantage.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and follow through on commitments.
  • Reliable, punctual, and results-oriented team player with a strong work ethic and adaptability.
