The Continuing Education Registration & Records Director oversees all aspects of the student registration process, recordkeeping, and reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and exceptional customer service. This position supervises support staff, manages the use of Ellucian Colleague for course and enrollment functions, prepares institutional and state reports, and ensures adherence to FERPA and college policies. The Director plays a key role in improving workflows, supporting staff training, and fostering a professional, student-focused environment that advances the mission of Continuing Education.

Position Duties

  • Oversees the student registration process for the Continuing Education Division, including class schedules, rosters, refunds, fee waivers, scholarships, and sponsorships.
  • Supervises daily deposit verification, student record processing, transcript management, and ensure compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
  • Direct and supports Registration and Records staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Manages use of Ellucian Colleague for course building, section setup, and reporting; serve as a resource to staff on system procedures and workflows.
  • Prepares and submits reports to college leadership and the NC Community College System Office by established deadlines.
  • Continuously evaluates and improves workflow procedures to enhance customer service for students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, customer service focus, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Participate in committees, professional development, and other college initiatives.
  • Supervises 1 Full-Time Staff member

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related; at least five (5) years of progressive managerial experience; experience with Ellucian Colleague; In-depth knowledge of the continuing education compliance review process.


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.


Other Qualifications

Work Environment: Primarily office setting; requires frequent use of standard office equipment; frequent interaction with students, faculty, and staff; requires professionalism and customer service.


Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary, with extensive periods of sitting, typing and reviewing documents; Occasional light lifting, carrying, or moving of materials up 20 pounds; requires effective verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


Normal Working Hours: Standard schedule, Monday – Friday; flexibility is occasionally required to support evening or weekend CE registration periods, reporting deadlines or special projects.
