This position offers great variety of projects within our contamination, assessment, and remediation (CAR) group! This role is a “hands on” field position which requires travel and overnight work.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
An entry-level professional as part of a team of General Engineers. Uses professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity. Limited or no prior experience in this role.
Responsibilities
- Inspection, maintenance, monitoring and sampling of environmental groundwater wells
- Ensure work is completed in a safe and compliant manner with respect to applicable OSHA, GHD and client standards
- Generate quality field notes and enter collected field data electronically to database programs
- Correspondence with certified laboratory and shipping of collected samples
- Perform site inspections and collection of assessment field data including soil, surface water and air
- Operations and maintenance, troubleshooting and oversight of remedial equipment including groundwater extraction systems, soil vapor extraction, dual phase extraction and related environmental remediation equipment
- Participate in emergency response (ER) events on an as needed basis
- Work directly with clients and contractors
- Data Collection and Analysis: Extract relevant data from information provided by others, and input it into spreadsheets or standard formats.
- Solutions Analysis: Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries. Involves following procedures and precedents.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks and to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- Operational Compliance: Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
- Waste Management: Conduct routine operations in waste management, including basic waste segregation and preliminary waste storage operations.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Perform basic tasks in technical troubleshooting, such as identifying evident technical issues with equipment and experiments and assisting in basic diagnostic actions.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Ability to perform field work (i.e., wear respirator)
- Commitment to safety applying a behavior-based safety culture in all aspects of the job
- Strong mechanical, electrical and computer proficiency
- Ability to work extended hours and travel out of town on a regular basis
- Physically capable of working in non-ideal conditions, such as hot/cold temperatures, wet weather, outside, and around loud equipment and traversing rough terrains
- Ability to be a self-starter, flexible, great teammate, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks with minimal direction
- Ability to analyze field readings, data, and operating parameters to optimize system operations
Education
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- 3+ years of previous environmental sampling field experience.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER is a plus
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
