Salary Range: $84,911 - $146,140
Job Summary: The Manager, Airside Duty is responsible for the development, facilitation, maintenance of airfield training programs and adherence to FAA, 14 CFR Part 139 regulations as they relate to training requirements. Strong team building, leadership, and project management qualities are a requirement of this role. In addition, this role is also responsible for planning, training, budgeting supplies, coordinating schedules, and managing personnel, material, and physical resources to achieve operational and organizational objectives. Training Manager is responsible for developing and facilitating classroom instruction for newly hired employees and current employees. Other responsibilities include managing airside projects, and initiatives, coordinating the operations of the airport, ensuring that Airport operating practices comply with a range of operating regulations, and overseeing the Airside Operation's Training Programs.
Essential Job Duties:
- Acts as the primary liaison between MNAA, Ramp Control, and our tenants during the winter season. Supports deice/defrost operations to ensure safety and efficiency on the terminal apron.
- Manages the Airside Operations Team compliance FAA, 14 CFR Part 139 regulations as they relate to training.
- Manages the Movement Area Training Program for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with FAA, 14 CFR Part 139 regulations.
- Responsible for the development of educational programs designed to enhance competencies.
- Leads the Airside Training Program to include development of materials, providing content, ensuring transfer of knowledge and updating/enhancing program.
- Supervises personnel through providing guidance, training and motivation to assigned staff; assigns, monitors and reviews work; evaluates performance and initiates corrective action as needed.
- Collaborates with other departments to develop and implement new training initiatives.
- Prepares a variety of documents for the purpose of documenting activities and administering assigned programs and resources.
- Implements and enforces airport rules and regulations, policies, procedures, and FAA advisories concerning the safe operation of the airport.
- Conducts safety inspections on all facilities directly related to the safe operation of the airport as required by periodic circumstances such as construction, meteorological conditions, incidents, or accidents.
- Ensures that discrepancies or violations are reported to the responsible parties and follows up to ensure that required corrective action is taken.
- Directs and controls airside and apron operations related to flight operations, inspections, federal requirements, and construction.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Authority's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, coaching/mentoring staff, planning and directing work, appraising performance and resolving problems.
- Serves as liaison with tenants, government agencies, and local public agencies to coordinate airport operational activities.
- Conducts studies and collects data for improving operating methods directly affecting the airport.
- Assists with the preparation of operating and capital improvement budgets consistent with departmental goals.
- Ensures all documentation including records, reports, and logs are completed according to policies and procedures.
- Resolves emergencies by responding to warnings and calls; by assigning staff to urgent situations.
- Responds to emergency and crisis response situations at the Emergency Operations Center.
- Manages key components of the Airport's Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone) program.
- Oversees policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvements in safety, security, and efficiency.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergency and irregular operations incidents following National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident.
- Command System (ICS) structure (Spellout to mirror other responsibilities).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in aviation management / administrative, Business Administration, Public Administration or a field related to aviation
- 2-4 years in Airport Operations at an FAR Part 139 certified airport.
- 2-4 years of Managerial or Supervisory experience within Operations at a FAR Part 139 certified airport.
- Valid Driver License CLASS D
Preferred:
- Master's degree in aviation management / administration
- Certified Member of American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)
- Accredited Airport Professional of American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)
- International Airport Professional of Airports Council International (ACI)
- Remote Pilots License (Part 107)
