This position is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Department in all aspects of HR including general and administrative tasks.  The Human Resources Coordinator will deliver high quality services in a manner consistent with the mission and values of the Legacy Retirement Communities and complies with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the selection/hiring process.  This may include sourcing positions to increase applicant flow including updating of internal job postings and recruitment website, posting of jobs on career pages, updating the applicant flow log, copying and distributing applications/resumes to department Managers, assist with the interview process, conduct reference checks/previous employment verifications, make job offers, write offer letters, contact candidates on status of positions/application, etc.  
  • Attend job fairs and other events in the community to increase applicant flow and overall awareness of the Legacy Retirement Communities.
  • Respond to incoming calls from potential candidates inquiring on the status of applications/resumes.  May include finding out more about the candidate and the type of position in which he/she has interest.
  • Assist in the new hire onboarding process which may include:  scheduling orientations, reviewing pre-employment drug testing and other paperwork for completion, preparing orientation packets, conducting background checks (Health & Human Services, sex offender registry, State Patrol, etc.).
  • Create and post information to the Intranet for the Human Resources department or for others as requested.
  • Perform general and administrative tasks to include:  filing (applications and personnel file information), coordinating internal distributions to include copying, labeling, sorting, etc.
  • Perform employee service functions by answering human resource questions from employees, Managers and the general public.
  • Work on special HR projects as they arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.  A post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Management or other related field highly desired
  • Two to three years experience in Human Resources desired.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook required.  
  • Must be a reliable individual as attendance and dependability is required in this position.  Must be an independent thinker and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be organized and possess strong time-management skills.
  • Must be able to present himself/herself in a professional manner and be able to speak clearly to an individual and/or a group of people.
  • Must be capable of relating to a variety of people and personalities.  Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Will be required to travel to the Legacy Retirement Communities as needed.
  • May be exposed to chemicals/cleaning solutions.
