Job Description
Receives limited supervision. Performs general arc welding (“MIG”) process to both carbon and stainless steel, operates machinery to perform cutting and grinding. Fabrication jobs typically consist of a complex variety of processes and assemblies for dump bodies that require high quality finishing. Must use AWS standards/processes certified in both hard wire and flux core wire welding processes.
Essential Functions

· Reads and follows plans, material lists and guidelines and applies necessary timelines.
· Operates welding equipment, arc gouging equipment, hand plasma torches, oxy-fuel torches, jigs, holding fixtures, measuring instruments, personal computer (PC) and hand tools.
· Conducts visual and dimensional checks of own work.
· Follows general work orders and specific safety procedures in the fabrication of dump body accessories through arc welding, MIG.
· Work requires hand set-ups. Completes, modifies, and/or enhances final products as required.
· May operate drill press, brake press & other equipment. Must read drawings (blueprints) to fabricate a variety of complex, low and high-volume parts onto dump bodies. Required to inspect & approve own work prior to next operation.
· Will operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
· Maintains work area, equipment and supplies in neat, organized manner.
· Final inspection of finished work and timely completion of associated paperwork.
Pay Range: $22.00/hr - $26.75/hr

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Your manager will provide you with the specific details of your schedule. The schedule is subject to change due to customer requirements or business needs. Overtime may be necessary to handle emergencies, heavy workloads or other issues.
Travel
In rare cases a welder/fabricator may be asked to travel.
Required Education and Experience
· High School Diploma or G.E.D.
· Related experience or completed training.
Preferred Education and Experience
· Trade School Certification
· Similar or related product knowledge.
· Experience in a production environment.
