Description

Finance Manager

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW (Hybrid: 4 days in-office)

At VetPartners, we pride ourselves on delivering shared services support that drives success for our veterinary clinics. This role features a hybrid work arrangement, with four days in the office to promote collaboration, build strong connections, and enhance team engagement, and will directly support our mission of delivering exceptional veterinary care by providing professional financial accounting across Australia and New Zealand.

We’re looking for a people-oriented and detail-driven Finance Manager to join our dynamic Finance team at VetPartners. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role plays a key part in driving financial accountability and supporting general accounting across the VetPartners Group.

You’ll bring exceptional customer service skills and a passion for continuous improvement, with the opportunity to lead and implement process enhancements that make a real impact. This is a high-volume environment, so the ability to multi-task, prioritise effectively, and thrive under pressure is essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and mentor a team of four accountants, overseeing day-to-day transaction postings and month-end close processes
  • Own the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, ensuring discrepancies are promptly escalated to the Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
  • Manage relationships with external service providers, including auditors and regulators, to ensure timely delivery and compliance with key deadlines
  • Take ownership of annual audit processes and statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, controls, and systems, maintaining a strong governance framework
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly dividend calculations, as well as the reconciliation of joint venture (JV) loan accounts
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with JV partners, acting as a key point of contact for financial matters
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • 5–10 years’ experience in a similar high-volume, multi-site finance role, with exposure to both Australian and New Zealand operations
  • CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated strong people leadership skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and positively influence workplace culture and change
  • Effective project management capabilities, with a focus on delivery and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a consistent ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, a proactive “can-do” attitude, and a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a changing environment with competing demands
  • Accurate reconciliation skills and a meticulous approach to financial data integrity

Desirable

  • Experience using Pronto and Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Prior exposure to the Veterinary or Health industry
