The Role
The Strategy & Planning Lead will provide leadership, analysis and decision support to drive change and influence the strategic direction of the FFIO organization. The role includes a combination of supporting FFIO strategy and goals through management routines and project work focused on Fidelity’s strategic priorities. Additionally, the Strategy & Planning Lead will support the business executive with the creation of executive presentations and site visits to fund boards and other internal executives that not only articulates FFIO’s strategy but also its performance in meeting objectives. This role works extensively with FFIO’s senior leadership team to deliver expected results.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in strategy and planning disciplines preferably in the investment management industry. MBA is desirable.
- Deep understanding of FFIO’s organizational structure and service model to be successful in this role.
- Prior experience developing executive presentations and presenting to senior leaders.
- Strategy and planning support experience with an established consulting firm or corporate strategy group (preferred).
- Graphic design and/or demonstrated skills in creating professional and visually appealing executive presentations (preferred).
- You demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence across teams including at senior leadership levels.
- You have developed executable business plans by using your strong conceptual skills tempered by a bottom-line business orientation.
- You have a proven track record in analytically oriented and project management roles where you provided reporting and analysis to measure progress against objectives as well as informed future decision making.
- You can independently synthesize complex information into operational insights and strategic recommendations.
- You can tell a story using your knowledge of FFIO and its performance in delivering on its strategic objectives.
- You are organized and deliver results using, where appropriate, project management routines and practices.
- You are self-motivated and can work without a high degree of structure.
- You are comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- You also can manage multiple initiatives and drive results in a dynamic setting.
- Tell the FFIO Story through professional and visually appealing executive presentations.
- Organize executive site visits for fund boards and other senior leaders.
- Participate in and support the development of the FFIO strategy and transform the organization’s strategies, goals, and vision into execution and measurements.
- Partner with Technology and Finance to lead efforts to develop business cases, which will secure approval and funding of new & prospective cross FFIO initiatives.
- Engage in the submission of the annual multi-year plan, including alignment with FBOT and Fidelity.
- Create domain level operating plans, objectives and key performance indicators (OKPIs) with appropriate targets.
- Develop and oversee operating scorecards to monitor progress against our objectives as well as to inform future decision making.
- Facilitate strategy business routines such as domain reviews, monthly business reviews (MBR) and quarterly business reviews (QBR).
