Education/Certification Required:

- Displays the ability to multitask and handle multiple issues at the same time
- Able to work independently and on a team
- Possess a valid Texas Operator or Class C driver license
- Insurable by the District
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Function
The Inventory Control Specialist will assist all campuses/departments Districtwide, with their annual asset inventory process to ensure proper recording and accountability.
Including but not limited to the following areas:
- Technology Services
- Fixed Assets
- Non-Fixed Assets
Reports To:
Bookkeeper for Asset Inventory
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to all campuses/departments Districtwide, with their annual fixed and non-fixed asset inventory process to ensure proper recording and accountability.
- Inventories campus and department facilities to analyze and report the viability of installed technology equipment
- Coordinates with campus and/or department staff in conducting technology viability surveys of technology equipment
- Occasionally work with contractors to complete technology-related projects
- Assist all campuses with locating misplaced or missing assets
- Assist campuses and Fixed Asset Bookkeeper with final inventory reconciliation
- Assist Fixed Asset Bookkeeper with inventory reports including missing assets reports
- Perform all aspects of inventory control in accordance with State and district regulations, policy, and guidelines
- Develops and implements procedures for ensuring adequate inventory levels are present
- Identifies ways to dispose of or sell obsolete items in the inventory
- Works with other teams including campuses and departments
- Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner
- Audits the facility’s entire inventory on a regular basis and provides reports to management
- Trains other employees in cycle counting and inventory control.
- Files warranty claims with manufacturers or vendors when defective products are found in the inventory
- Instructs others on how and where to return defective products
- Follows all existing District policies and procedures
- Assists with Help Desk function when required
- Assists with technology projects
- Performs location surveys, helps find inventory based on survey, audits and inventories
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Conditions associated with accountability of District assets.
- Lifting, moving, bending, kneeling, and crawling are frequently required.
- Prolonged sitting with some light lifting.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- District-wide travel; occasional out-of-District travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
- Ability to receive information and/or instruction from external/internal customers through spoken instruction.
- Ability to manipulate tools/equipment/keyboards.
- Ability to convey information and/or instructions through spoken instructions.
- Ability to see detailed information naturally or with correction.
