Description:
The paraeducator will work with a variety of students including multiple handicapped and autism under the supervision of the special education and regular education teachers to provide academic and physical assistance to promote student achievement of goals and objectives. This involves supporting students in all aspects of their day and the ability to work in diverse classroom settings which may include, but not limited to:assist with Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy routines, therapy activities, physical assistance for mobility, lifting, personal care, toileting, grooming, feeding, parallel exercise, swimming, field trips, life skills instruction and all other duties as assigned by the teacher and/or building principal.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess the skills to assist in all school activities. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50lbs, support student instruction, record data as needed, assist students with feeding, toileting and other personal hygiene. Applicants must be flexible and able to adjust to schedule changes as directed by the teacher and/or principal. Additional course work and/or experience working with people with disabilitites is preferred.
Salary: $18.32/ hr
