Our Technical Team:

The Technical Team at Oner plays a pivotal role in the end-to-end development of garments, ensuring each product meets the highest standards of quality, fit, functionality, and brand alignment for our target customer.

We collaborate closely with Design, Buying, and Supplier teams from initial concept through to final production, guaranteeing that all garments adhere to precise technical specifications and reflect the brand’s creative vision. Our expertise spans a wide range of critical areas, including fabric performance, garment construction, sizing, and quality assurance. As the vital link between creative vision and commercial execution, the Technical Team oversees all aspects of product development from fit approvals and wear testing to production handovers and final inspections.

About you:

We're looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Garment Technologist to join our ever-growing Product Team. You’ll be responsible for managing the product life cycle from initial specification to shipment. We’re looking for someone to take ownership of their dedicated product area, ensuring you meet critical path deadlines and quality standards.

This is a highly collaborative role, where you’ll work closely with the Buying, Merchandising, and the Design team. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a number of cross-departmental projects. It’s important that you are self-motivated and can take ownership of the responsibilities of your department. Aside from technical experience, organisational and analytical skills are essential. Other really important skills are good time management and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

Occasional factory visits and business travel for press or community events may also be required.

You’ll be responsible for:

Product Development:

  • Managing the product life cycle from initial specification through to shipment, for your dedicated product areas.
  • Managing your workload successfully to the company's critical path.
  • Running weekly fit sessions for your allocated products. Providing suppliers with detailed technical fit and construction comments.
  • Attending critical path meetings with suppliers, taking an active part in meetings querying any issues that could cause shipment delays.
  • Supporting the buying team to achieve target cost. Advising the team of cost implications that fit and construction amendments may have.
  • Signing off graded specs, checking grading prior to production starting.
  • Owning the care label process for your dedicated product areas.

Quality Assurance:

  • Working alongside the Fabric Technician to ensure fabrics are suitable for their end use. Assessing fabric and garment test reports.
  • Managing wearer trials for new styles to ensure garments are fit for purpose. Collate feedback for the team to review.
  • Reviewing AQL inspections, working with the merchandising teams to ensure shipments are approved on time. Reporting failed AQL inspections to the Senior Garment Technologist and Head of Technical. Logging AQL inspection costs on tracker.
  • Working alongside the buying team to ensure correct trims such as elastic and zippers are ordered, which are functional for the end use.

Other & Ad hoc:

  • Model management. Booking fit models and diarising fit time.
  • Updating all relevant business trackers on Excel, Google Drive & Monday.com
  • Supporting other members of the technical team in their workload when requested.
  • Working on special projects to improve fit and quality of product.
  • Creating block libraries and run fit reviews when required.

You’ll need to be:

  • An excellent communicator and collaborator, with the ability to build strong relationships across the business and with suppliers
  • Reliable, flexible, and good at working within a fast-paced team
  • Very detail oriented with strong organisational skills
  • Passionate about the role and maintaining high standards of quality and fit within your dedicated products area.
  • A team player with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to key deadlines on the Critical Path.
