Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician Hood Container Corporation New Johnsonville Mill

Job Summary: Hood Container Corporation is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join our team at the New Johnsonville Mill. The E&I Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, instrumentation, and control equipment to ensure the continuous operation of our manufacturing processes. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including motors, control circuits, and power distribution equipment. • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation devices such as transmitters, sensors, and control valves. • Perform preventive maintenance on PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and other automation equipment. • Calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with operational standards. • Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and technical manuals. • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and support continuous operations. • Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and NFPA 70E standards. • Document maintenance activities and update records in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Qualifications:• Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical/Electronic Technology, Instrumentation, or related field preferred. • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an E&I Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting. • Technical Skills: Proficiency with electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes). Experience with 4-20mA loops, HART protocol, and PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley). Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and ISA standards. • Certifications: ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or equivalent is a plus. • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Requirements:• Must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
