Juvenile Justice Liaison

Location: Park Forest, IL – Western South Suburban Community Wellness (WEST)
Compensation: $20.67 – $21.63/hour
Schedule: Full-time; includes evenings, weekends, and flexible hours based on program needs

Position Summary

The Juvenile Justice Liaison supports justice-involved youth by facilitating group programming, coordinating referrals, managing data, and maintaining strong partnerships with community and legal stakeholders. This role enhances youth engagement through outreach and collaboration while contributing to ongoing program development through participation in meetings, supervision, and training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-facilitate group programming for youth participants.

  • Coordinate with the Reporting Center staff regarding referrals and group scheduling.

  • Track and analyze data related to referrals, attendance, and partnerships.

  • Maintain accurate attendance spreadsheets and documentation.

  • Provide linkages to appropriate providers based on participant needs.

  • Maintain and update resource lists for evaluations and community service providers.

  • Build and sustain relationships with Cook County State’s Attorney, Judges, and Probation Officers.

  • Establish partnerships with Truancy Courts, State’s Attorney Offices, Juvenile Judges, and Probation Departments in all LANs.

  • Collaborate with ICBS programs to monitor and support participant engagement.

  • Conduct follow-up calls to parents regarding youth attendance and document communications.

  • Enter data into systems such as C5 and Care Logic.

  • Attend supervision, staff, and team meetings to support program growth and quality improvement.

  • Complete all required Federal, IDHS, Mandated Reporter, and Core Curriculum trainings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Trauma-Informed Care

The Juvenile Justice Liaison applies the principles of trauma-informed care, prioritizing the “5 S’s”:

  • Safety – maintaining physical and emotional safety for clients and staff.

  • Self-Regulation – managing one’s own emotions to support client interactions.

  • Supportiveness – building caring and respectful relationships with clients.

  • Strengths – identifying and reinforcing client strengths and resilience.

  • Self-Care – practicing strategies to manage stress and prevent secondary trauma.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, or BSW) required.

  • Experience working with at-risk or justice-involved youth preferred.

  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage data, maintain accurate documentation, and meet reporting requirements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data systems (C5, Care Logic).

  • Must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends.

  • Valid Illinois driver’s license, clear driving record, and proof of auto insurance required.

  • Ability to transport clients as needed.
