The Michigan Milk Producers Association is a dairy farmer owned cooperative and dairy processor. Founded in 1916, the MMPA serves dairy farmers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.
MMPA maintains a strong presence within the dairy industry with strategic business relationships through a variety of channels like processing shelf-stable, value added dairy products. MMPA has four member owned processing plants in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, including Superior Dairy and the Middlebury Cheese Company. Products made at MMPA’s plants include fluid milk, sour cream, cheese, ultra-filtered milk, cottage cheese, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream and condensed skim milk.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Talent Acquisition Manager to lead our recruitment strategy, drive a seamless onboarding experience, and partner with leadership to elevate our employer brand. This role is ideal for someone who is both strategic and hands-on—capable of managing the full recruitment lifecycle while also contributing to long-term talent initiatives that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy aligned with organizational goals
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for key roles, with a focus on quality of hire, time to fill, and candidate experience
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill positions
- Utilize data and metrics to assess recruiting performance and recommend improvements
Onboarding & Candidate Experience:
- Oversee and continuously improve the onboarding process to ensure a smooth, engaging new hire experience
- Partner with HR and hiring managers to coordinate pre-boarding, orientation, and 30/60/90-day check-ins
- Act as a key liaison for new hires during their initial transition into the company
Employer Branding & Leadership Partnership:
- Collaborate with marketing and senior leadership to enhance and promote the company’s employer brand
- Create compelling job content and recruitment marketing campaigns to attract top talent
- Represent the organization at job fairs, networking events, and industry conferences
- Support internal communication initiatives that foster a strong workplace culture and employee advocacy
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- May supervise recruiting team members or external recruiting partners
- Partner with HR, department leaders, and executives to forecast hiring needs and workforce planning
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and internal policies related to hiring and onboarding
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in recruiting/talent acquisition, including 2+ years in a leadership or strategic role
- Proven success developing and executing recruiting strategies across various functions
- Experience in onboarding program development and employer branding initiatives
- Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and recruitment marketing tools
- Strong interpersonal, project management, and communication skills
