Manufacturing Engineer - Portland, OR

Sightline is an agile, innovative company developing onboard video processing systems for the autonomous vehicle industry (UAV, drone, robot, etc.). Purpose of Position
Based in the Portland office, this role involves working with our hardware group to continuously improve and support production of existing products and to introduce new products. An ideal candidate is looking for an opportunity to solve challenging problems in a fast-paced, growing industry. This role is primarily on-site, with select opportunities to work remotely.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Support production operators with daily escalations.
- Disposition NCM, drive to root cause, hand off to vendor/supply chain team.
- Sustain manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Create and sustain manufacturing documentation.
- Design, build, and sustain MFG test fixtures and tooling.
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D production drawings for products.
- Support the Supply Chain team with Manufacturing builds, NPI, and data packages.
- Select, propose, install, and maintain production equipment and work benches.
- Assist with RMA troubleshooting efforts.
Education and Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (preferred: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant degree).
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience working in manufacturing.
- Mechanical CAD tool experience required, Autodesk Fusion 360 preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Beneficial Experience (preferred, not required)
- Use of measuring devices, such as calipers and DMMs.
- Experience in PCB assembly and PCB design.
- Experience with manufacturing standards and compliance (ISO9001, IPC-A-610, RoHS, REACH).
- Experience with PLM systems and change management processes.
Salary and Benefits
Estimated salary range for this position is $85K-95K annually, depending on experience.
We are open to hiring candidates with varying levels of experience. The estimated salary band will be adjusted accordingly based on the candidate’s experience and expertise.
Total compensation includes salary, 11 paid holidays, PTO (20 days earned over the first year), health insurance (100% Sightline covered for HDHP with HSA), dental, vision, life/disability, 401K match, incentive plan, Sightline equivalent OR PFMLI coverage, schedule flexibility, parental leave, and education reimbursement.
