About the Department

The mission of the Human Resources office is to provide a professional and responsive approach to Public Safety Services' human resources needs in the program areas of policies and procedures, benefits administration, classification, and compensation, employee administration, and human resources-related training and development.

Position Duties
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Please note that jobs at this level often include many of the tasks listed below:
- Carries out basic departmental duties following established rules and policies. This may include working with other departments or customers.
- Processes routine paperwork and/or enters data into a department log or database in the servicing of a customer.
- Develops procedures and guidelines related to the imaging of documents; maintains a log of imaged files; may serve as lead worker over other imaging positions.
- Prepares requisitions for the purchase of supplies; may involve entering information into an automated system.
- Compiles information from various sources and prepares specialized reports; formats reports according to department standards.
- Serves as a clerical assistant to a manager, which could include keeping appointment schedules, preparing travel, issuing directives to others on their behalf, and relieving the manager of administrative matters.
- May begin performing duties related to traditional administrative functions, such as property control, purchasing, and safety, in addition to other clerical duties as noted above.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This is a part-time, at will position, that is limited to 1,245 hours per contract year.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
Location: This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Compensation: The bi-weekly salary offered is as listed below:
