K-12 Education Senior Manager
Status: Exempt, full time, salaried
Salary range: $55,000 to $65,000 DOE

Job Summary:
The K–12 Education Senior Manager reports to the Director of Lifelong Learning and leads the strategic development, delivery, and growth of the Museum’s K-12 offerings. Overseeing up to three team members, the Senior Manager ensures high-quality engagement through field trips, camps, virtual instruction, and outreach. They will leverage research, partnerships, and creativity to design programs that engage diverse learners across Social Studies, Science, and Visual Arts. The successful candidate is a collaborative team leader who provides strategic vision, builds partnerships, evaluates offerings, prioritizes staff time and resources, oversees budgets, and stays current on museum learning best practices. This role requires confidence in leading field trip experiences, cultivating relationships with educators and community partners, and representing the Museum in meetings with stakeholders and donors.
Essential Job Functions:
Education Programs and Initiatives
· Leverage research, partnerships, and creativity to design programs that engage diverse learners and meet the needs of local teachers.
· Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate all K–12 education programs.
· Evaluate program effectiveness and community needs; apply feedback for continuous improvement.
· Develop and deliver curriculum-aligned lesson plans inspired by the Neon Boneyard and Museum Collection.
· Facilitate virtual, in-person, and hybrid models of instruction for K–12 audiences.
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accessible, inclusive, and high-quality educational experiences for children and families.
· Research and apply current trends in interpretive techniques and museum education theory.
Supervisory and Departmental Leadership
· Supervise, train, and support education staff, interns, and volunteers.
· Monitor assigned project and grant budgets and ensure fiscal accountability.
· Assist with departmental planning aligned with the Museum’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
· Coordinate with Marketing/PR on promotion of education-related initiatives.
· Coordinate with Collections & Exhibitions to highlight the stories of Las Vegas.
· Prepare reports for Development and other internal or external stakeholders.
Partnership and Resource Development
· Represent the Museum in local, regional, and professional education communities.
· Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with educators, school districts, and community organizations.
· Collaborate with Development staff to assist with grant proposals and deliverables.
· Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the Museum’s goals.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
· Master’s degree in education, museum studies, history, art education, or related field preferred; equivalent experience with bachelor’s degree required.
· 3+ years of experience developing and delivering informal education programs, ideally in a museum or attraction.
· Strong knowledge of curriculum standards and museum learning strategies.
· Demonstrated ability to develop inclusive, standards-aligned educational materials.
· Public speaking, facilitation, and presentation expertise.
· Understanding of DEI principles and ability to uphold inclusive program practices.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with virtual learning platforms preferred.
· Interest in history, art, Las Vegas culture, preservation, science, or neon signs.
· Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
· Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle required.
Working Conditions
- Requires travel to multiple sites and locations.
- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions and in close proximity to other people sitting / standing for long periods of time.
- Requires availability for occasional work on evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work outdoors in seasonal desert weather conditions with frequent exposure to bright, flashing lights and illuminated signage as part of the Museum’s Collection.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds.
- Ability to use a computer and office equipment.
- Valid clean driver’s license and use of a car.
