The Global Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for playing a pivotal role in ensuring our organization adheres to all applicable trade regulations while optimizing efficiency in cross-border transactions. Our ideal candidate will have relevant experience in international trade compliance, possessing a deep understanding of global trade regulations, import/export laws, and customs procedures.
This position will serve our Rheem Enterprise Division located in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid).
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the development and implementation of global trade compliance strategies, policies, and procedures. 
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, regulations, and agreements. 
- Ensure compliance with Customs regulations and C-TPAT standards. 
- Lead post-entry customs audit 
- Manage and execute import and export compliance activities, including classification, licensing, and documentation. 
- Identify and assess potential risks related to global trade compliance. 
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. 
- Stay abreast of changes in trade regulations and advise the organization on potential impacts. 
- Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely customs entries. 
- Keep the team informed about changes in regulations and industry best practices. 
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, supply chain, and logistics, to integrate compliance considerations into business processes. 
- Collaborate with external partners and government agencies to address compliance-related issues. 
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of global trade compliance processes. 
- Implement automation solutions where applicable to streamline compliance activities. 
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, international trade, or a related field. 
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in global trade compliance. 
- 3+ years of experience in international trade laws, regulations, and customs procedures. 
- An innovative solution-first spirit and an ability to think creatively. 
- Able to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, engineers, business teams) and external subject matter experts 
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite. 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree 
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Global Sanctions Specialist, Certified Customs Specialist)
