POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Handler visually inspects, does some additional manual operations, and boxes plastic parts as they are ejected from automatic molding presses. 

The hours' for this position is from Monday - Friday 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the molding of small to midsize plastic parts to job requirements
  • Visually identify and separate visually nonconforming parts
  • Responsible for proper identification of runner buckets 
  • Daily checking and understanding of posted job assignments, route sheets and necessary job information related to the job
  • Communicate with supervisor to trouble shoot any problems with job
  • Obtain any supplies or documentation if needed
  • Maintain proper quality and quantities of molded materials
  • Visually inspect parts during press run
  • Take appropriate action when bad parts are identified
  • Maintain accurate counts
  • Maintain accurate documentation such as records and labels
  • Help coordinate 5s duties to help keep a clean and organized shop.
  • Prepare incoming shift such as making up boxes and provide packaging materials
  • Notify supervisor of all unsafe / hazardous conditions or defective equipment and file incident / accident reports in accordance with established policies
  • When working with a job that has just started running again, audit parts when weighing to make sure counts are accurate
  • Utilize six-sigma quality tools, when appropriate, to define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes and outcomes.
  • Responsible to maintain & support processes, procedures & K.P.I.’s owned by your position.
  • Review of all procedures related to your job per “HR LG 01 Training Matrix”
  • Completion within time stated of all training required by Job Description in “HR LG 01 Training Matrix”
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to record data 
  • Read, write and speak English

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Must be able to understand and follow directions
  • Must be able to recognize small details
  • Knowledge of visual discrepancies in plastic molded parts
  • Must be able to work harmoniously with other employees
  • Must have flexibility in work schedule
  • Highly Motivated
  • Prepared to keep the pace of a fast paced environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sit or stand as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
  • Proper lifting techniques required.
  • Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol. 
  • Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
