Under the direction of the supervisor and in alignment with established IT Communication practices and policies, key project management responsibilities include.
Project Planning and Monitoring: Assisting managers and technical leadership in creating and maintaining project plans, monitoring progress, measuring success, and disseminating project information to stakeholders for transparency and alignment.
Resource Development: Collaborating with Communications Group managers to identify resource needs, ensuring projects are completed on time while maintaining efficiency.
Contractor Coordination: Working closely with contractors to ensure compliance with University standards and that contracted groups perform as required to meet project objectives.
Personnel Supervision: Supervising designated personnel as required to ensure effective team performance and adherence to project goals.
Responsibilities
- Implement and coordinate multiple OIT Telecommunications systems
- Collaborate in planning, research, & installation of Communications systems
- Analyze current projects and provide solutions to problems
- Identify network & communications requirements for existing and new construction
- Conduct design meetings with Architects, designers and departments on campus
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma, technical certifications
Experience:
- 2 years' experience as an IT Project manager
- 5 years experience in the telecommunications industry with experience managing IT projects such as data wiring, fiber optics, 802.11(x) wireless, construction, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Knowledge of Telecommunications Construction
- Advanced Communication Skills
- Intermediate analytical and technological skills
- Advanced ability to manage priorities and organizational skills
- Ability to build relationships with co-workers and users
- Ability to learn new skills or techniques
- Advanced ability to take initiative
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor Degree
- Project Management Professional Certification
Experience:
- 5 years of field experience in the design, installation and maintenance of communications infrastructure including construction discipline for IT infrastructure.

Compensation and Benefits
- UT market range: MR11
- Anticipated hiring range: $65k-$75k
