25-26 Hiring: (0.6) Social Worker - High School chez Chappaqua Central School District

The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving approximately 3500 students in Westchester County. We are seeking excellent educators who can provide high-quality instruction and build authentic, supportive relationships with students. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the position of (0.6) School Social Worker at Horace Greeley High School beginning immediately.   

Note: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Conducts individual or group sessions for students in need of explicit support in a wide range of areas including social skills, executive functioning and healthy decision making.

• Experience in crisis intervention. 

• Serves as a resource to students to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.

• Current knowledge of best practices in educating students with disabilities in inclusive school environments.

• Ability to effectively facilitate group decision-making processes.

• Thorough knowledge of current federal and state regulations governing CPSE, CSE and Section 504.

• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrates leadership in working collaboratively with parents, teachers, students, and building and district leaders.

• Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.

• Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping.

• Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

Certification/Experience:

• NYS School Social Worker Certification required.

• Previous experience as a School Social Worker required.

• High School experience is preferred.
