About the Department

This position will be responsible for the management and supervision of all personnel in the Dearborn Regional MAC Office. This
office, under the direction of the Director, Regional MAC Office, will maintain court-appointed attorney databases for all of the nineteen
participating courts. Responsible for compliance and managing all MIDC grant funds as it relates to MIDC Standard 1 (training),
Standard 3 (experts and investigators), and Standard 5 (judicial independence).

Position Duties

 Supervises staff to include: Managing attorney appointment lists for funding units; establishing policies for attorneys to be
added or removed from appointment lists; monitoring MIDC attorney education requirements; prioritizing, assigning, and
reviewing work; coordinating staff training; and supporting personnel procedures.
 Establishes and leads the new Regional MAC Office and establishes all policies and operations to support compliance of the
MIDC Standards.
 Develops and supports an Advisory Board composed of members of the funding units. Drafts policies, responsibilities, job
specifications and on-boards members. Drafts initial Board documents for approval. Manages Board activities and
communications.
 Responsible for compliance with Standard 5 regarding attorney performance requirements; manages inquiries, complaints,
and questions regarding attorney appointments from multiple stakeholders (court administration, judges, attorneys, MIDC,
etc.).
 Creates and oversees policies and processes for the appointment, payment, tracking and compliance oversight of expert and
investigator requests.
 Responsible for the preparation and administration of annual Compliance Plans and Cost Analyses for all funding units and
the Regional Office; resolves all issues with MIDC and Regional Manager. Oversees grant administration.
 Manages data collection and reporting to assure accuracy of compliance with MIDC Standards.
 Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) degree and 5 years of experience in criminal legal defense litigation; 5 years of experience in department
management; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the
job such as those listed above.

Other Qualifications

Licensed to practice law in good standing with State Bar of Michigan
Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License
