NAFI Rhode Island is exploring candidates for a Youth Counselor. Main Street's semi-independent living program serves emerging young adults, ages 16-21, who are struggling with transitioning from adolescence to adulthood. Our goal is to provide all youth the skills and logistical support that will permit them to become self-supporting in the community.
Responsibilities Include:
- Dedicated, compassionate and qualified person with excellent verbal and written communications, solid professional boundaries, and the ability to work independently.
- A positive role model who can motivate our clients to reach their full potential. Supervise and maintain the safety of the clients.
- Support youth in developing daily living skills.
- Communicate any issues and concerns and complete routine paperwork. Attend staff meetings and scheduled trainings.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and inviting environment.
- All candidates must successfully clear DCYF, Driving Record, and RI State background checks.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to transport clients as needed.

Desired Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to transport clients as needed
Must successfully clear DCYF, Driving Record, and RI State background checks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid professional boundaries and ability to work independently

Ability to motivate and support clients in developing daily living skills
Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and inviting environment
Willingness to attend staff meetings and scheduled trainings
Hourly: $22.50 / per hour
