THE ROLE: SENIOR PR MANAGER (contract role)
The Senior PR Manager will support the PR function holistically for OLLY during a mat leave. The role will report to the Marketing Communication Director, and will serve as a key member of the Marketing Team during this time. The role requires strong subject matter expertise in PR (strategy, pitching, thought leadership, experiential events) and the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional team members and external agency partners to execute OLLY's strategy and generate coverage. This role will also prep OLLY spokespeople for external media opportunities and inquiries (corporate and consumer), facilitate the integration of external spokespeople (celebrities, influencers and experts) into PR and provide as-needed support with crisis management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the PR function day-to-day, including executing strategy, and managing PR agency partner (weekly calls, facilitating all productrequests, approvals and fielding questions as needed)
- Support briefing agency partner on key brand initiatives, including product launches, seasonal initiatives and thought leadership momentsto enable development of strong PR plans by agency partner
- Manage, coordinate and staff all internal spokespeople media interviews; including prepping stakeholders and developing Q&As as needed
- Manage award and speaking submissions for brand, in partnership with PR agency, including drafting and reviewing submissions
- Facilitate the integration of external spokespeople (doctors, celebs) for media interviews, working between agencies and partners to coordinate and prep all parties
- Provide strategy recommendations on product launches, internal policies and campaigns; prep messaging materials where relevant and brief agency partners on necessary requests
- Advise on differentiated and buzzworthy extensions of marketing initiatives and product launches, as a PR subject matter expert and collaborator across the integrated marketing team
- Partner with the marketing team to extend and amplify celeb, expert spokespeople and brand partnership efforts in PR
- Manage the PR budget in partnership with the Director of Marketing Communications ensuring that funds are deployed effectively and in alignment with key brand priorities
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing PR for high-growth brands in the wellness, CPG or related industries with a track record of driving material impact for the business. They are deeply immersed in consumer and business trends and able to translate that into meaningful action for the brand. Possessing a mix of creativity and imagination alongside a data-driven mindset, this person is a creative thinker, a problem-solver and comfortable suggesting new and novel approaches (backed by data/insights) to meet brand goals. They are equally capable of partnering with an agency and connecting the dots between PR and other cross-functional areas (social media, influencer, retail, paid media, ecomm, etc.)
CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED
- 7-10 years of Communications experience with PR, Events, Social and Media Relations
- Deep understanding of media and how to generate frequent, quality and diverse coverage
- Agency background or experience managing agency partners and ability to develop strong relationships with external teams
- Experience working with influencer, celebrity and expert-level (doctors, leaders in various fields) partners and comfortable navigating theserelationships while keeping brand goals top of mind
- Experience managing strategy and execution of brand events, including event budgets
- Experience interfacing with executives and ability to navigate executive communications within the PR space
- Problem solver by nature, able to navigate challenges independently
- A passion for consumer culture/trends and ability to translate them into opportunities for the brand
- An entrepreneurial spirit and innovative sensibility
- Comfortable and experienced in moving projects forward independently to deliver against strategy and goals, while keeping stakeholdersinformed and gathering input from collaborative partners
- Ability to leverage data specific to PR performance and comfortable using reporting to inform decisions
- A team player who thrives in fast-pace, collaborative environments and appreciates multiple points of view
- Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
THE DETAILS
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA, Los Angeles, CA or NYC based
HOURS: 40 hours/week, 6-month temporary position

The pay range for this position is $70/hour dependent on experience.
