Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician Lead position is a working lead responsible for on-site supervision of a 2–4 person crew performing industrial cleaning and commercial kitchen exhaust (hood/duct/fan) services. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient execution of nightly work, delivers quality outcomes to customers, and develops crew capability through coaching and clear work direction.

Compensation starting at $27/hr

Location: New Berlin, WI

Schedule: Varies -- AM/PM and Overnight shifts may be required -- flexibility is preferred

Days: Monday through Friday with occasional weekends

 

Essential Functions:

  • Crew Leadership & Safety
    • Conduct tailgate safety meetings; verify PPE and fall-protection use; enforce safe work practices on rooftops, ladders, and wet surfaces.
    • Assign tasks, set pace/quality standards, monitor progress, and provide real-time coaching/feedback.
  • Job Execution & Quality
    • Perform and oversee cleaning using pressure washers, degreasers, scrapers, and related tools for kitchen exhaust systems and industrial equipment/areas (indoor/outdoor, elevated work).
    • Verify scope completion; complete before/after photos, checklists (e.g., NFPA-96 basics), and service documentation in company apps.
  • Customer Communication
    • Act as on-site point of contact; provide updates/ETAs; obtain sign-off; escalate issues promptly to Operations.
  • Logistics & Readiness
    • Oversee vehicle/equipment loadout; track chemicals/filters; perform basic tool upkeep; report repair needs and parts requests.
  • Training & Onboarding
    • Mentor new hires; reinforce SOPs and productivity standards; recommend performance actions to management.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists team members in solving work problems.

 

Required Education, Employment Experience and Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license held ≥1 year; acceptable MVR  in accordance with company policy.
  • Ability to pass background screening.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs, work at heights (rooftops, ladders, catwalks), and work indoors/outdoors in varied conditions.
  • 2+ years industrial, commercial cleaning, or maintenance experience.
  • 1+ year experience as a lead/foreman/crew chief in field services or skilled trades (may be concurrent with above).

 

 

 Employment Experience, and Skills (Preferred Qualifications in addition to minimum qualifications):

 

Preferred Skills

  • Prior commercial kitchen exhaust/hood cleaning experience.
  • Familiarity with basic NFPA-96 practices and ladder/roof safety.
  • OSHA-10 or equivalent safety training.
  • Proficiency with mobile work apps (photos, checklists, service reports).

Working Environment:

  • Able to work in all climates heat, cold, wet conditions
  • Lifting, climbing and bending
  • Must be able to work on feet most of the work day
  • Must be able to work with strong odors
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and lifting up to 55 lbs.
  • Regular work on rooftops/elevated areas; exposure to water, degreasers, and outdoor weather.
  • Use of pressure-washing equipment and hand tools.
