Trivantage a division of Glen Raven is recruiting for an Associate Buyer. The Associate Buyer is charged with understanding the supply change and vendors associated with it. They will work with others in managing suppliers to optimize cost, quality and service and monitoring supplier performance. The Associate Buyer is also involved in supporting new product introductions/changes and managing the RFQ, RFI, RFP process.
*** This role follows a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home***
Responsibilities:
- Set-up and maintain item and vendor information in warehouse system. Maintaining appropriate files and records of meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that the supplier is aware of their performance.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and invoice variances.
- Communicate with Director of Sourcing on project status or other relevant items.
- Work with Accounting in regards to invoice discrepancy resolution.
- Understand and develop relationships with the current vendor base
- Identify opportunities in support of Trivantage objectives.
- Become a backup to the buyer/senior buyer in management of the RFQ process.
- Work closely with Business Development, Sales and Marketing to develop and market new products.
- Analytically support the Director of Sourcing in all aspects of vendor relationship
- Act as liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems.
- Process non-conforming material requests and RMA requests with supply chain partners.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other job-related tasks as needed; enabling other workers to achieve their job objectives.
Education & Experience:
- College Degree with emphasis in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Finance preferred or equivalent combination of education and training.
- Zero to Five years of purchasing and planning experience including purchasing, inventory control, contract negotiation, supply management, and supplier relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills along with good verbal and written communication skills required are required.
- Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
- Ability to responds consistently with a high degree of initiative to resolve issues or complex problems that may arise.
- Ability to maintain positive company image and brand.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Efficient organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- A courteous and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Proficient with Office suite and other work-related software.
