About the Organization

TAAF serves the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community by promoting safety, fostering belonging, and advancing prosperity. Launched in 2021 in response to the rise in anti-Asian hate and to address the long-standing underinvestment in AAPI communities, we invest in initiatives to combat anti-Asian hate, integrate AAPI studies into school curricula, elevate authentic AAPI storytelling, and expand resources and representation for our communities. Through our high-impact initiatives, events, and investments in national and local nonprofits, we’re creating a permanent and irrevocable sense of belonging for millions of AAPIs in the United States. For additional information about TAAF, please visit www.taaf.org or follow @taaforg on Instagram, LinkedIn, X or Facebook.

About the Role

We are seeking a story-driven content creator who can develop, film, direct, and edit social-first videos that inspire belonging and amplify AANHPI voices. From TikTok and Instagram Reels to YouTube Shorts, you’ll craft content that sparks pride, builds community, and drives real impact.

We’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and purpose—a visual storyteller who can turn complex issues and powerful moments into videos that connect deeply with audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full video process—concept, shoot, edit, and publish—with a focus on short-form social platforms.
Bring TAAF’s campaigns, initiatives, and community stories to life through compelling, accessible video.
  • Capture live events and transform raw footage into polished, mission-aligned content.
  • Collaborate with the social team to grow TAAF’s presence and engage diverse audiences.
  • Stay on top of social trends and bring creative ideas rooted in community and culture.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • 4–6 years of experience in video creation, production, and editing, especially for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
  • A strong portfolio of social-first videos that show creativity and impact.
  • Skilled in filming, lighting, audio, and editing (Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar).
  • A storyteller with an eye for detail, speed, and authenticity.
  • Deep passion for equity, inclusion, and advancing the voices of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.

Working Hours

  • Standard workweek is 32 hours with up to 25% travel for on-site shoots and events.

Location

  • New York City and San Francisco-based staff work in the office 3 days per week, and the other days remotely.

Benefits

  • Anticipated hourly rate for this position is $50.00 per hour
