Description

BASIC FUNCTION:  

Personal Bankers are enthusiastic/self-motivated individuals responsible for opening New Account Products for individuals and businesses, which may include Checking, Savings, Certificate of Deposits (CDs), Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Safe Deposit Boxes, Debit Cards, Credit Cards and Online Banking products and services. The goal for the Personal Banker is to provide total customer satisfaction with a customer-first attitude. Job duties are to be performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recommend and explain banking services, including FDIC and other products, to customers based on the customer’s needs.
  • Identify opportunities to promote and cross sell new banking products and services.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining Online Banking customers, Mobile Banking, Autobooks, Bill Pay, and Touch Tone Banking. 
  • Manage customer bank accounts, including opening and closing accounts; overseeing transactions; ordering customer checks, deposit, and withdrawal slips; printing or ordering new and replacement debit cards; maintain and activate dormant accounts: set up recurring and insufficient funds transfers; and place customer stop payments and holds on our systems.
  • Prepare documentation to open or close accounts, including obtaining signatures; and research and prepare debit card dispute paperwork for customer signature.
  • Demonstrate operational soundness to minimize risk exposure or loss while maintaining efficiencies. 
  • Process credit card applications online.
  • Verify bank account details upon client request.
  • Discuss bank policies and procedures including changes with customers as well as providing required disclosures.
  • Resolve customer queries and any complaints in a timely manner according to FMB’s policy and procedures.
  • Perform administrative duties such as data entry, scanning, indexing, filing, check back, and purging closed accounts as outlined in FMB’s policies and procedures.  
  • Safe Deposit Box Administration and customer access.
  • IRA Administration including IRS rule compliance.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Understand and follow applicable laws and regulations with regard to your job responsibility including all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous Teller experience is preferred.
  • Prior personal banking/customer service experience is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen, sit or stand, and walk or maneuver throughout the branch. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, typically 38 +/- hours per work week between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:15 pm Monday through Thursday; 7:30 am and 6:15 pm on Friday and 7:30 am to 12:15 pm on Saturdays.
